Shell

For over 30 years Shell has chosen BAW Architecture for its control room designs, and 10 projects have been built across North America.

This includes control rooms for oil platforms, transportation centers, petrochemical facilities and more. Both new builds and control room renovations comprise the portfolio.

The landmark project to this day is a Control Center, Atrium, Administration, and Security Facility which features leading-edge design of a multi-purpose facility to monitor an oil sands process operation. It houses a control room, administration, high-level security operations, training, permitting and food service areas. A three-story atrium connects operators, engineers and management, to foster collaboration within a multi-purpose space.

In 1992, BAW principal Brad Adams Walker wrote a white paper on reducing significant glare issues in an existing facility without spending a ton of money. An executive from Shell read the paper, gave Brad a call, and it was the beginning of a lasting relationship.

We have done work for the following Shell Divisions:

Shell Oil Company

Royal Dutch Shell

Shell Chemical Company
